Early Life

Blaydes grew up in Chicago, one of five siblings, and somehow survived the chaos while turning into a total wrestling machine at De La Salle Institute—going 44–0 his senior year and snagging a state title, which is insane when you think about it. Over four years he racked up 95 wins and 121 takedowns, which basically screams “relentless.” He dabbled in football too, playing defensive end, because why not double up on torture, right? A full wrestling scholarship took him to Northern Illinois University, where he went 9–2 as a redshirt freshman, but the grind didn’t stop him from transferring to Harper College and dominating the NJCAA National Championship as a redshirt sophomore. Somewhere in all of that, the pull of MMA got too strong, and he left school to chase it full-time. Oh, and just to prove he can’t sit still, he also snagged an IKF amateur championship along the way. Basically, he’s the guy who makes hard work look… slightly less miserable than it really is.

Mixed Martial Arts Career

Blaydes started his professional career with an 8–0 amateur record before turning pro in 2014. He went on a 5–0 run, with all his victories coming via TKO, which earned him a contract with the UFC. Blaydes made his UFC debut against Francis Ngannou on April 10, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 86. He lost the fight via TKO at the end of the second round due to a doctor stoppage.

His next fight was against Cody East on October 1, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 96. Blaydes won via TKO in the second round, earning his first UFC Performance of the Night bonus. Blaydes then faced Adam Milstead on February 4, 2017, at UFC Fight Night 104.

Blaydes keeps things personal with his own corner of the internet, TeamBlaydes.com, where he sells gear, drops merch for fans, and throws in the occasional giveaway just to keep people guessing—and honestly, it’s the kind of small, messy effort that makes him feel more real than the polished UFC spotlight ever could.

Curtis Blaydes Net Worth 2026

As of 2026, Curtis Blaydes has pulled together an estimated $2 million, mostly from sweating it out in the UFC cage. His fattest paycheck came from the bout against Sergei Pavlovich, a reminder that all the bruises, late-night training, and grind don’t just earn respect—they pay the bills too.

Curtis Blaydes Salary 2026

Blaydes’ payday for his fight against Chris Daukas was a wild mix of numbers that somehow adds up to $323,000—$131K just for showing up, another $131K for actually winning, a $50K performance bonus, and $11K from sponsorships, because apparently the universe insists on sprinkling some extra cash in there. Fast forward to his bout with Sergei Pavlovich on April 22, 2023, and it’s a different story: $400K base salary, no win bonus since the first-round TKO didn’t go his way, but $20K from sponsorships still padded the total to around $420K. It’s one of those moments that makes the fight game feel like a mix of brutal athleticism and cold, meticulous math—blows to the head and checks in the mail, all at once.
