Braun Strowman Biography: Adam Joseph Scherr born September 6, 1983 is an American professional wrestler and former strongman competitor, best known for his time in WWE, where he performed under the ring name Braun Strowman.
Braun Strowman Biography
Braun Strowman, or Adam Scherr if you want to get all formal, came into this world on September 6, 1983, in the small town of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina—a place that somehow produced one of the most physically intimidating humans in wrestling history. Standing like a mountain in WWE, he’s carved out a career filled with championship wins and a net worth somewhere between $2 million and $5 million, which honestly feels both impressive and modest for someone who can probably bench a small car.

Braun Strowman Achievements
Braun Strowman didn’t exactly tiptoe into fame—he bulldozed his way there. Crushing the NAS Amateur National Championships in 2011 and then taking the Arnold Amateur Strongman title in 2012, he made it clear he wasn’t just another big guy with delusions of grandeur. By 2015, crashing onto the main roster with The Wyatt Family, mask on, presence turned up to eleven, it hit—this wasn’t just wrestling, it was… commanding a room without saying much.

Early Life
Adam Scherr was born on September 6, 1983, in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, just outside Charlotte, to Sara and Rick “Crusher” Scherr—the very same guy who basically wrote the slow-pitch softball rulebook and still owns insane World Series records in homers, hits, and RBIs.
Then came the absurd growth spurt: 5’8″ as a freshman, 6’5″ by senior year, leaving everyone gawking. After graduating in 2001, life hit the pause button for a couple of years of goofing off and figuring things out, until community college came along in 2003. Semi-pro football with the Hickory Hornets filled the days, but bills don’t pay themselves, so mechanic and doorman jobs kept things grounded. The NFL Combine in 2007 came and went with no contract, a brutal reality check, but all the sweat, misses, and random gigs were part of shaping someone bigger than just stats or height.
Career
If it’s got two legs and a heartbeat, or even four wheels and a flatbed, there’s a good chance Braun Strowman has destroyed it by now. And if he hasn’t, he will. Initially the towering “Black Sheep” of The Wyatt Family, Strowman broke out on his own in 2016 and has dominated the WWE landscape as The Monster of All Monsters ever since. But Strowman is capable of much more than hitting his opponents with the Running Powerslam and pinning them for the three-count. Destruction is his true passion, as exhibited by his flipping an ambulance over with Roman Reigns trapped inside, slamming Brock Lesnar through two tables and burying him under a third, and superplexing Big Show with such ferocity that the canvas collapsed beneath them.
Strowman’s destruction has led him to significant accomplishments throughout his WWE career, including record-setting performances in Royal Rumble Matches, but he achieved arguably the greatest moment of his career when he won the Universal Championship by defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 36.
Professional wrestling career
In 2018, on the January 8th episode of Raw, Strowman assaulted Kane and Lesnar backstage, concluding with Strowman pulling an entire scaffold structure across the prone bodies of his rivals. The following week on the January 15 episode of Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle publicly (kayfabe) fired Strowman in the ring for his actions backstage against Lesnar and Kane. For most of the night, Strowman proceeded to wreak havoc backstage after eliminating security guards assigned to escort Strowman from the arena. Strowman’s rampage included disengaging a technical trailer from a Mack truck, soon followed by Strowman tipping over the Mack truck.
His havoc reached its next highest point when he stormed the announcers’ area and seized Michael Cole and hurled him into a group of officials and security personnel.
World Wrestling Entertainment
General Manager Kurt Angle told Braun he must choose a partner while Strowman wanted the match to be a handicap match. Strowman did not choose his partner until WrestleMania. His partner was a 10-year old by the name Nicholas. When Nicholas and Braun won the match, Nicholas became the youngest person to ever win a championship in WWE, beating Rene Dupree’s record. They did relinquish their title the next day. The following year in 2019, Strowman won his second tag team championship on the August 19 episode of Monday Night RAW, after he and Seth Rollins defeated the team of The OC in a tag team title match to become the new WWE RAW Tag Team Champions. This marked Strowman’s second title reign as a tag team champion and Rollins’ fifth tag team title reign.
